Some years ago, I lent a collection of his essays to a friend, and never saw it again. I’ve just ordered a used copy from an online distributor, in particular for the piece about “Hell-Spawn.” I’ll share details when it arrives. I’d rather not butcher the excerpt by trying to reproduce it from memory.
He was one of the guiding lights behind Counterpunch, still one of the finest alternative websites anywhere.
Wherever he is, I hope he and Hitchens have kissed and made up, and are sharing a large bottle of fine whisky.

I’m not going to say Christopher Hitchens was perfect, or absolutely right about everything, but when he argued that religion poisons everything, well … looking at schmucks like this, it’s hard to argue with him.
