Argentinian plans for Antarctic domination continue apace. Jeff DeRome tells me that ‘the Argentinian military is setting up bizarre breeding farms where they intend to mate large Emperor penguins (Aptenodytes forsteri — to four feet in height) with particularly fertile Argentinian peasant stock. Their object: to create an oily breed of feathered mestizo which will be all but impervious to the cold. This hell-spawn will then be used to swell the ranks of the Argentine military to provide the occupation force for the entire Antarctic continent, which they openly covet.
