Instructive, isn’t it. In one short exchange, the toxic Sun effect is on display in all its glory. Just watch the way “suckitupwuzz” and “mymanrob” argue:
- no critical thought
- no analysis
- namecalling
- reflexive dependence on tired, simplistic, discredited cliches
- mindless regurgitation of talking points
- implicit homophobia
- reduction of everything to simplistic left vs. right
- turning ignorance into something to be admired
Now, I haven’t met these people, so I can’t assume that in their spare time, they’re not brain surgeons / rocket scientists / string-theory physicists or anything. I’m just playing the percentages.
