How exactly is busting the unions going to benefit me? How is making my ability to earn a living more vulnerable to abuse and exploitation going to benefit me? How is handing employers more rights to cut wages and benefits going to benefit me? How is allowing employers make existing work forces work harder so they don’t have to hire more people benefit me? Frankly I am sick of the right-wing telling me how the elimination of unions is some-how going to bring about greater prospertity. I look at the places in the United States, not to mention other parts of the world, where union busting has suceeded and all I see is a great divide between the super-rich and the empoverished. Worse, I see a system where the poor are systemically repressed to keep them in their place through lack of political representation, a revolving door justice system and corporations like Caterpillar who think nothing of the people or communities they step upon.Spare me your Ayn Rand fantasy world of heroic capitalists and dispised “takers”. Dispite the right-wing myths to the contrary, there is enough wealth available for everyone to live in dignity, not just the greedy 1%.
